Whatton & Aslockton Cricket Club – 2011-2012 Season results

The 2012 season will be remembered as an ‘On & Off’ season.  March being the driest for several years and catching a number of clubs out with their Pre-season preparations.  Then the weather changed, once it started to rain it did not know when to stop and it was difficult to get a dry day the cut and prepare the wickets for the games to be played.  Thanks must go to the volunteers who helped prepare the ground and wickets during the very difficult season to get the games played.

The senior 1st team played in the South Nottinghamshire Cricket League Division F, playing thirteen of the eighteen games, winning eleven, losing two with five matches affected by the weather.  They finished top of their league and promoted as champions to division E for the 2013 season.  Jamie Lambourne with the highest divisional batting scoring 583 runs at an average of 58.30 per innings & Alex White with the best divisional bowling taking 28 wickets at an average of 9.43 per wicket.

The senior 2nd team played in the South Nottinghamshire Cricket League Division P, playing eleven of the eighteen games winning nine, losing two with seven matches affected by the weather.  The finished top of their league and promoted as champions to division N for the 2013 season.

The junior under 15 team played in the Newark Colts Youth Under 15’s Premiership League playing seven of the eight games winning six, losing one with one match cancelled.  They finished top of their league as champions.  This was a tremendous achievement having won the Under 12’s, 13’s & 14’s the previous years.

We start the 2013 season at home on the 27th April with the 2nd team against Ruddington 11 and the 1st team away on the 4th May against Hickling.
